of Grace Chen
Grace Chen
Grace Chen was born and raised in Vancouver. She completed
her Bachelor of Arts degree at Simon Fraser University with a double
major in Psychology and Criminology. During her undergrad studies,
she worked at a private investigation company transcribing surveillance
videos. She went on to complete her law degree at the University
of British Columbia. In her final year of law school, Grace traveled
abroad and studied law at Keele University in England.
Grace joined Murphy Battista in 2003, working part-time while completing
her law degree. Besides work and school, Grace volunteered with
various non-profit organizations. She volunteered as a student clinician
through the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, providing
free legal advice to people in the community who could not otherwise
afford it. She assisted with the operations of the Salvation Army
Pro Bono Program. In addition, she was instrumental in establishing
the first bankruptcy pro bono clinic in Vancouver through her participation
with Access Justice.
Grace completed her articles with the firm and was called to the
bar in 2006.
